Print Of The Month - July ♟️
Celebrate International Chess Day with a 3D-Printed Chess Set
Chess is more than just a game; it's a global phenomenon that brings people together through strategy and skill. Celebrated annually on July 20th, International Chess Day is an opportunity to delve into the rich history and dynamic world of chess. This year, we're marking the occasion by showcasing an innovative and stylish 3D-printed chess set, created using a Bambu Labs A1 Combo 3D printer with CopyMaster PLA filament.
Chess is often referred to as the "Game of Kings," and for a good reason. Its origins trace back over a thousand years to the Gupta dynasty in India in the 6th century, and it has since evolved to become a beloved pastime worldwide. Chess not only challenges the intellect but also encourages strategic thinking and patience. International Chess Day was first proposed by UNESCO and has been celebrated since 1966. The day encourages players from all over the world to gather, compete, and share their passion for the game. This day serves as a reminder of chess's role in promoting global unity and intellectual development.
3D printing offers endless possibilities for customization and creativity. With the ability to print your chess set, you can personalize it to match your style and preferences. Whether it's altering the size, shape, or color, 3D printing makes it possible to create a truly unique set that reflects your personality. This 3D-printed chess set card kit by BrskaBxby from makerworld is a testament to how modern technology can enhance and continue traditional games, and is a great example of how technology and tradition can come together to create something exceptional. Whether you're a seasoned player or a curious newcomer, this set offers a fresh and modern way to enjoy one of the world's oldest games. You can download the chess set we used from the link below.
The Bambu Labs A1 Combo 3D printer that we used to make this chess set is an ideal printer for both beginners and experienced users at a very reasonable price. Our technicians have been working hard this last week to bring our current stock back to you after the recent recall, and we have some A grade refurbished machines in stock now. All of the machines currently listed as A grade refurbished on the link below are effectively brand new machines, which have had the old problematic heated beds swapped out for the new ones. They have all been tested and shown to be working before they are re-sold and come with a 6 month warranty. So you can't be more confident that you're getting the best possible deal. They're selling out quickly though, so snap one up while you can, they are not likely to be available at this price again anytime soon!
As we celebrate International Chess Day, if you do decide to pick up your own A1, consider making your own chess set and have a game with your friends and family. Here's to many more games and the continued celebration of chess across the globe!
